Kenya Summer 2013 Mission Report

Miracles! Miracles! Miracles!

This past August 2013, we went to Kenya for third time in about a year.  We held a seven-day crusade in the slums of Mwiki outside of the city of Nairobi.  I was told that no other ministry has tried holding a crusade in the soccer fields before.  Many were told that it would be difficult to draw people and be successful in the slums.  But our partners and volunteers persevered promoting, inviting and praying for a successful event for Jesus.

 The first night of the crusade we seen miracles and healings breakthrough.  God came in so strong with almost a shock and awe to the peoples hearts by many confirmed healings and miracles.  Every night we saw something inspiring to encourage us to keep pressing for more from the Lord.  Some very special miracles occurred during the week.  Three miracles happened for three children ages two, five and seven all three were born crippled never ever walking a day in their young lives.  During the week all three were healed and were able to walk. Amen!

 Some of the testimonies for the week included three women that were healed during the week of the services.  One was sick with ulcers but after attending the crusade one night by the next day she was healed.  Another was healed on the first night of the crusade from her feet burning all day.  The last one was healed of an oppression that convinced her to kill herself that night.  Instead she came across our crusade that night to hear me preach on forgiveness.  I made an alter call for everyone one needing a miracle but having unforgiveness in their heart.  She came forward and was healed of this oppression. The next night she came back to testify how her business had fallen apart and she had no money but now trusted God.  While she was testifying we took an offering spontaneously for her.  Everyone in the crusade ran forward with money for her.  We filled up a bucket of Schillings for her to satisfy her debt and give her a new start in business.  God is Amazing!  I have all three testimonies video taped on links below.

 In two nights of crusade events over 200 kids have come to the Lord.  Many healings of back, neck and body pains have been reported.  Many demonically possessed people were delivered immediately at the name of Jesus.  Each night the crowds have doubled in size on a couple of soccer fields in a slum suburb of Nairobi.  We had over 400 salvations recorded during our week of evangelism.   Amen!

 Special Moments of Divine Healing

 Miracles started happening days before we even held our first service.  An elder of one of the sponsoring churches was sent home from hospitals because of finances.  He was sick with pneumonia, which caused great pain in his ribs and back.  We prayed for him in the parking lot of the church.  We then went to get some soft drinks at a store. I was watching the soccer game on the TV when he yelled my name.  Then stood up yelling I am healed, no more pain, I can lift my hands.  Amen!

 During my Sunday morning service a woman came for prayer she had a huge inflammation in her throat, which looked like two grapefruits.  I laid hands on her throat and the swelling disappeared immediately.  The church actually said OOHHH.  Amen!

 Successful Pastor Conference & Special Pastor Service Meetings

 We had over 150 pastors and leaders attend our three-day morning & afternoon meetings.  Bishop Miguel Renteria was amazing in his true element of teaching today’s pastors and future leaders.  I was blessed to see God use him greatly!  We also setup a couple of special pastors service meetings for pastors unable to attend our main service.  Our goal was to introduce the ministry to new areas and get them involved for our next events.  We were welcomed to their areas with their blessing.  God healed several of them after our services.  God is Good!

New Christian Library planted in Kenya

Its official!! We planted our first Christian library in Kenya. In cooperation with Serve International and Bishop Paul Ligano, The Rev. Gabriel Yanez Jr. Faith Development Center has been given a wing in their newly constructed million dollar building for their school and ministry complex in Kakamega, Kenya. It’s dedicated to my dad who passed away when I was a child. He was full of faith! We deposited 53 newly released titles and will deliver more throughout the years. I will be back to dedicate the wing in December when I preach as the keynote speaker at their yearly conference. I should have an updated picture by then as well. The building is huge like a Kenyan Mall! Our vision for the Faith Development Centers is to have a Christian library, media center and computer lab for the communities. We plan to plant them in countries all over the world. Also each center will be dedicated to a person of faith that has gone on to glory leaving a legacy of glory!

 One Step closer for Global Mission Broadcast Center

 Before I left Houston to Nairobi on this mission trip I asked God to guide me to get a meeting with corporate office of SafariCom.  I am so glad God goes before us to prepare the way.  In a foreign country without knowing anyone to connect us for a meeting God provided a way.  We had a divine meeting with SafariCom the largest internet provider in Africa about our Global Mission Broadcast Center.  This meeting was setup by the Lord.  It’s like a fortress to get inside the corporate offices.  But God led us to a store, then to a person who knew someone inside that would love to help with this new idea.  Within a half hour of calls we had an immediate appointment at the headquarters with the logistics engineers to create a custom package for our broadcast.  While we passed through the security building we walked outside to cross over to the main building.  There were feet painted on the pathway to the building.  I raised my hands up testifying to Bishop Sammy that God goes before us pointing to the ground paintings.  The Global Mission Broadcast Center will enable us to broadcast from my studio in Houston to any mission field in the world.  Simultaneously streaming from the mission field back to the studio showing the crowd and translator, its basically going to be dual stream broadcasting.

Supernatural Provision

God provided all the funds for this trip within two weeks of flying out.  We bought our tickets the first week of August and flew out on August the 23^rd completely funded.   This trip was strategic to our new Broadcast vision into the mission fields.  God never fails us!

Future Mission Trips

In 2012 I had the privilege of having Marilyn Hickey on my radio show.   Near the end of the show I asked her to pray and share for the listeners whatever she felt led by the Lord to do.  She said she had something for me, which God had told her to share.  She said, “God is enlarging your faith and enlarging your circle of ministry.”  Well my friends after five trips to India in less than three years and three trips to Kenya in less than a year more doors have opened.  Here is a look at our schedule for the next year.

• Kenya December 2013 for a week leaders convention in Kakamega and three-day pastors conference/three-night healing service in Nairobi Mwiki District.  

• India February 2014 for leaders conference and crusades in Orissia and Vishakapatnam. 

• Russia Spring 2014 with a larger team to hold a pastor’s conference and healing crusade.

• Nigeria 2014 we just were asked to plan a trip to Nigeria by an assistant to the President of Nigeria.  They estimate a crusade of 100,000 in attendance and Pastors/Leaders conference of a few thousand.  We will be taking a big team for that one as well. 

• Kenya August 2014/India December 2014 planned already.

Bigger Teams

I have been blessed and able to go into countries on short notices to hold successful events.  But I also notice my strengths and weakness my gifts and my needs.  So I have recruited and continue to recruit great men of God that are anointed and humble.  The bible says how can we walk together unless we agree.  God has blessed me to travel with some of the most anointed men of God to build this vision.  Team members have their own church or ministry but all are willing to join in on a corporate anointing to reach the world.   The world has not seen what God can do with a team of anointed men that only care that God gets the Glory in all things!

THREE SPIRITUAL GENERATORS

MOTHER TERESA

Someone asked mother Teresa, “What is the first thing you want to say to God when you see Him?” She is said to have replied; “I want to say to him, - You have a lot of explaining to do.” We will probably all have a chuckle at that. It isn’t hard to understand what would prompt such a comment. We will never reach a perfect understanding of all things until we “know as we are known” in Heaven. The following thoughts are some observations that you may find interesting. After studying the word and testing it in my own life and ministry for the last 57 years, with some disappointments and some successes, I have come to understand these basic, fundamental truths about our Heavenly Father and His ways of going with His children.

Mercy is a generator

God’s mercy is “from everlasting to everlasting.” And again, “His mercy endureth forever”. Anybody is subject to receive mercy from the Lord if they cry out for help. Many scriptures and many bible stories as well as modern day stories are witnesses to people receiving God’s mercy when they cried for help. You didn’t deserve it and possibly didn’t have faith for it; i.e.; “Oh God, if there is a God somewhere out there would you please help me now” or “Oh God, if you will get me out of this mess I will believe in you forever.” David wrote in the Psalms, ”this poor man cried and the Lord delivered him out of all of his troubles.” and “out of an horrible pit”. Mercy ‘generated a miracle’. It has happened time and again. We have all benefitted from mercy. Mercy is the unmerited favor of God. Mercy is often granted to someone because of another person’s prayers. Consider Abraham praying for Lot when he was in Sodom. The person receiving the miracle didn’t know what happened or why things suddenly worked out. God gave them mercy because of an intercessors prayers and petition. Mercy is what God’s people need as we cry out on behalf of our beloved Nation right now. Someone appropriately stated, ”More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of.”

Now consider this about mercy: You cannot always rely on mercy! Although God’s mercy endures forever, it may not work on your situation everytime. “He has mercy on whom he will have mercy.” The volition of God determines mercy. God, the great judge of all the earth, is constantly making judgments concerning each of his children. I have learned that you can’t just go through life as a child of God depending on mercy to carry you to victory. God expects his children to educate themselves on his word and about what pleases him and learn to walk in faith “according to knowledge”. It is called growing up in Christ and becoming mature in spiritual things. He “carries the lambs” and “leads the (adult) sheep.”

Could this answer to why some of our cries for miraculous deliverance seem to go unheeded? Mercy functions under the canopy of HOPE. I don’t have all the answers, but I try to keep watching and staying open to learn. I hate losing and suffering failure. I know you do too! “My people (not the devils crowd), but my people, are destroyed for lack of knowledge”. What we don’t know is what is hurting us. I say it again; mercy is God’s unmerited favor.

FAITH IS A GENERATOR

“The just shall live by faith”. Oh, how we thank God for Mercy. But mercy is unpredictable. That is why God gave us grace by which to live our Christian lives. Grace is totally dependable and reliable. When we live according to grace we can always be certain of triumphant lives. I have learned that we control the level of grace that we live in. How so? I think I can explain that to your satisfaction.

We already know we receive from God because of what Jesus did and not what we have accomplished. We feel unworthy, but God “has counted us worthy to be partakers” by grace. Grace meaning; - Jesus got what we deserved, and we got what Jesus deserved. There is no way to take that into our earthly, limited and finite minds except by faith. This is why I call faith a generator. Faith generates grace!

Meditate the following verses that will verify this statement: “Therefore it is of faith that it might be by grace” and again, “Wherefore we have access into this grace through faith” and again, “for we are saved by grace through faith.” These are three witnesses from the scriptures that address this fact. Faith generates grace! When Jesus addressed a person crying out for help, he said, “according to your faith so be it (grace) unto you”. He was referring to grace when he said “it”. Remember this, “Grace and truth came by Jesus Christ”.

Is it any wonder why the word tells us; “without faith it is impossible to please God”? He is obviously limited on what he can do for us unless we apply faith to what he has promised for us through Jesus sacrifice.

The faith life is an unending battle, and is a challenge to the old nature. It is not comfortable to the natural intellect. For that reason it can become a boring and uncomfortable subject to meditate. I can say that because I deal with it too. No wonder the man cried to Jesus; ”help thou mine unbelief.” It can only come through supernatural help.

Grace doesn’t come to us because we do everything right. Air doesn’t come into our lungs because we do right. It comes into our lungs because we breathe. So also is grace generated by faith. “He that comes to God must believe—“ As our faith grows we increase in the benefits of grace. When we go from “faith to faith” (little faith to great faith) we advance from “grace to grace”(less benefits to more benefits). “And nothing shall be impossible unto you”. “Fear not little flock, it is the Fathers good pleasure to give you the kingdom”.

God loves to give good things to his children, but he is limited to our development in faith. These thoughts are not presented to cause discouragement or condemnation on us, but to help educate us. None of us have arrived, certainly not I, but we “press forward toward the mark for the prize”. Faith Generates grace! Selah!

OBEDIENCE IS A GENERATOR

The thing that prompted me to write this article is my meditation on this particular issue. I have come to see and believe that obedience probably causes more of the continual protection and blessings and goodness of God than we have ever come to understand. Obedience to the written word of God, and obedience to the Holy Spirit’s voice through a fertile and sensitive conscience will generate favor with God. “They that are led by the spirit of God, these are the sons of God.”

If I have the favor (approval) of God it is said in the word to be “like the early morning dew”, or like “the rain in due season”, or like the “former and the latter rain”. The favor (approval) of God will make to grow whatever we sow. “Fear not little flock, it is the fathers good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”

I have asked this question of several audiences; “if God had to make the choice of hearing you pray for one hour, or of watching you do something he told you to do, which one do think He would choose?” Instinctively we know He would choose obedience. “Study to show yourself approved of God a workman that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” Shame is coupled with losing. Glory is coupled with winning.

It doesn’t work if I approach the word in an effort to make it fit my understanding. I will never ‘rightly divide the word’ until I approach it as inarguably correct, regardless of my understanding. I know that my natural thinking is not in sync with the way God thinks. I must believe it first, - and then ask that my understanding will adjust to the word.

I heard this in my spirit one day during a time of great frustration; “If you will always concentrate on being a blessing you will seldom have to pray to receive one.” That opened me up to an entirely different attitude. I can never walk in obedience to God if I have to make the word fit my understanding before I embrace it. It is not comfortable to the flesh to discipline it to this principle. It is difficult to even think this way, much less to do it. But when we make up our mind to trust the word at that level, we enter into a favor that causes good things to come to us even when we didn’t ask for it, or even think to ask for it.

I have come to understand this: God wants to give good things to his children even more than we want to receive it. He can think up things that will please his children that we haven’t even thought of. “He daily loads us with benefits” and wants to bless us until we “don’t have room to receive it.”

One of the main reasons God created man is so he would have some children to give his goodness and possessions to. Read the creation story again. Time and again God repeated these words after creating Adam and Eve; “Let them have—.“ God, by His very nature is a giver. He couldn’t give if no receiver existed. He created the earth and all it’s wonderful glory and beauty and wealth, and then created man so He would have children to give His creation to. But it is freely divided with those who agree with (obey) him. Remember the forbidden fruit. St. Peter offered; “If you do these things you will never fall.” Failure and shame is sure to follow disobedience. Satan goes about “seeking whom he may devour.” He finds an opening to do his dirty work when he finds a disobedient child of God. He hates us! I don’t mean to bore my readers, but hearing these things and meditating them now is certainly easier to deal with than the failures and disappointment that come to us when we don’t heed them or know them.

Ponder this statement from the word; “It shall come to pass that before they call I will answer.”

God is obviously eager to bless His children. Make sure your heart agrees with God and listen for revelation and the voice of the spirit. God is so quick to forgive where we have been wrong.

I am convinced that far more blessings come to us because of obedience than through petition. Selah!

SUMMARY:

MERCY GENERATES MIRACLES AND DELIVERANCES AND SPECIAL FAVORS - but we can’t live our lives depending on it.

FAITH GENERATES GRACE WHICH ALWAYS CAUSES US TO TRIUMPH- but it requires constant feeding and developing.

OBEDIENCE GENERATES FAVOR WITH GOD - the benefits are consistent and daily but requires absolute trust.

When we read our bibles and approach it to believe it, it works like ‘weed and feed.’ It feeds our faith and

Kills our doubts.

Marketing Your Book

One thing that all authors and publishers must accept is that it takes a huge personal effort in marketing your book. Marketing takes everyone who cares about this project to get behind it with a plan. This is an everyday plan to work on something that pertains to marketing your book.

I believe that a three year commitment to push each literally work must be embraced by every one involved. Sometimes there might be that one exceptional work that just takes off like a rocket to best seller status. That work may even be featured on hit shows and news interviews but that doesn't happen for everyone overnight. It takes hard work to make a best selling author. I believe it literally takes a team effort to make some serious authors be made known to the public.

First thing to remember is that your literally work is just the vehicle you will be using to get your real item your selling out there. That real item is YOU. People buy books not only because they like the stories but because of who is writing them. Your book will open up interviews, articles, speaking engagements and book signings. It is your job to make the audience aware about YOU.

Things that are needed to market are right in front of you a computer, internet and phone. These are the essential tools that every power sales team use everyday. There is no majical formula on how this works or what you should do. It's simple find target groups of people, shows and stations that are interested your subject matter or expertise. Yes expertise! People believe if you write a book on a subject that your an expert in the field. That is at least one automatic mystique that you have working for you.

Now its up to you start calling and sending copies of your book to these target groups. A press kit may be good to have to send to those that request it. Also because I do own a Christian Radio Station I get several request every week from artist, authors and agents asking to be on the air to promote themselves. One thing I request from them is a list of questions before we air the interview live or record. Why this helps? It gives me a preview of what the interview would be like, allows me to build my show around the questions and assures me these people are professional. TV and Radio host are needing guest to be interviewed all the time. So if your work is something that they can create a show out of while keeping the cost low because your free. Your book is now a win for the both of you. Remember that your the best promoter for your book.

Besides working the phones and emailing people about your book consider sending press releases in several regions announcing your book to the public. Several media outlets monitor these release blasts. You never know which one might find your book appealing. Who knows what the next subject of the Oprah show would be you might have just wrote that one book they are looking for. Let you local media know about your work contact local papers, tv and radio channels. Before you go across country work the area that you live in. Keep the cost down. The beauty of most interviews is they can be done on a phone from your home or office.

Take advantage of the internet create a blog, get involved in social media networking, join groups and most definately create a website for yourself and a seperate one for each book you write. A free quick $300 lesson on websites and internet traffic is that the information meaning verbage, links and media on a website will drive traffic to the site. Why? Websites use spyders to gather information on websites that connect words and interests together for search engines. You want as much verbage online about your work and about you as an author that would create enough activity in search engines about guess who YOU.

Create a commercial for your book one for 30 seconds and the other for 2 minutes. These will come in handy to send out to media interests in the future. You can stream these videos everywhere including your own site. Make an informercial for your book. Informercials have made fortunes for "Pitchmen" George Foreman and Billy Mays. In fact George Foreman was reported to make over 250 million in Foreman Grills which he owns. That's 5 times what he made in his career as a heavy weight boxing champ.

The point I am trying to make is that personally you can do more than you think in promoting your book. Until you get a name like James Patterson, JK Rowling, Stephanie Meyer, Stieg Larson, John Grisham and Elizabeth Gilbert. You personally will need to market your name and your book as often as you can.

Everyone is not able to afford the financial commitment needed for commercial marketing via magazines, mass postage mail outs, bookstore reps, radio and TV campaigns. This is the key reason why publishers do not take on literally work not recommended from published authors. There is much cost involved in selling books. If you can't afford to hire someone to do this type of marketing for you then guess what you have to do it yourself.

My best advice is work all the other options before commiting your budget to commercial marketing. These are just some ideas on marketing but out of all the books and seminars I have seen these are the most recommended basic ways to start Marketing Your Book.
